The Jones™ Vaping Safety Guide

Due to the mass-hysteria currently being fomented by politicians and various special-interest groups trying to scare former smokers back to cigarettes, and generally misinforming the public about e-cigarettes we felt it our duty to create this vaping safety guide.

    Is Vaping safer than cigarettes?

Lets be real here, nicotine consumption will never be a healthy activity. It is a vice, a luxury, and a lifestyle choice.  The safest activity possible would be not smoking or vaping. This is why we have created our nicotine stepdown you can do your best to wean yourself off of nicotine.

    Learn about our Stepdown program

However, as a rational adult if you choose to use nicotine, vaping is most definitely safer than traditional combustible tobacco. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying to you with a hidden agenda or is woefully misinformed.

Fortunately, our cousins across the pond have a less politicized health system and Public Health England (an agency within the Department of Health and Social Care in the United Kingdom) has declared that e-cigarettes are 95 percent safer than cigarettes.

'While vaping may not be 100 per cent safe, most of the chemicals causing smoking-related disease are absent and the chemicals present pose limited danger'

The key is being vigilant about the product you purchase and where you buy it.  Buying anything black market comes with too much risk and there are most definitely bad actors out there who will take advantage of your lack of knowledge to make a buck. We will explain more on how to buy safe products below.

    What is in E-Liquid?

E-Liquid, or electronic cigarette liquid is comprised of vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, nicotine, and flavorings, which are all USP or food grade materials that are Generally Recognized As Safe.

(For more info on Vegetable Glycerin, Proplyene Glycol and Nicotine please read our FAQ by clicking here)

The formulations that The Jones™ uses follow a strict quality management system from extreme vetting of all suppliers and rigorous testing of all batches.

Our Production team, which consists of Highly trained Quality management experts and is Led by Biochemists with backgrounds at some of the most elite laboratories in the world, tirelessly audits every last drop of e-liquid that goes into our pods and disposables.

From inception to production we ensure that everything that goes into our products are fully traceable from the most reliable and trustworthy suppliers in the world. We spare no expense to provide our customers with the assurance that when they use a Jones™ product it is the highest quality vaping experience possible.

    Myth vs reality

Are flavors gonna kill me ?

No Flavors will not kill you.

Most flavors used in e-liquid formulations are diluted in propylene glycol with minimal amounts of ethanol to keep the flavors in solution. These are the same flavors that you will find in popular candies, soft drinks, energy drinks and hundreds of other food products.

What could possibly be dangerous in E-liquid for me?

Thickening agents, thickening additives, and Vitamin E based adulterants typically used by cannabis product manufacturers can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable.

The Jones products DO NOT contain any of these components, and we do not manufacture any THC or CBD products whatsoever.

We cannot confirm that every single vaping manufacturer avoids this, however, it is extremely unlikely as there is no scientific reason to use such components for nicotine-based liquids.

For these reasons, kJ Laboratories has long practiced restraint in the research and development of cannabis product lines and limit our production until we have qualified our suppliers, their ingredients, and the resulting products.

Once again, always make sure the products you consume are from a legitimate source and the manufacturers are transparent about where and how they manufacture their product.

Never use e-liquid manufactured outside of the USA!

Are there dangerous e-liquids out there?

     sigh. Yes.

Unfortunately, there are e-liquids that we would recommend you not to use.

There are unscrupulous Brands that use cheap untested liquid from China or do not follow Good Manufacturing Practices to guarantee the quality of their product and should be avoided at all costs. These brands take advantage of their relatively cheap price and greedy middle-men to flood the market with their questionable product. They don’t care about you, they don’t care about your safety. They only care about making an extra buck in the short term. Once this “hustle” is over, they will be selling Kratom or penis enlargment pills.

You can Identify these brands by their cheap packaging, lack of transparency and insanely high nicotine levels. Some of these ne’er-do-wells offer up to 70 mg (7%) nicotine levels, this is well above the recommended limit.

We feel that our 45 mg (4.5%) is the absolute highest nicotine level that should be available to the market.

How do I know a product is safe?

Here is a short list of verifying the pods, compatible pods or e-liquid disposables you purchase are safe:

    1. The packaging complies with the Law and has the proper nicotine Warning  prominently placed on at least 1/3 of the front and back, as well as any other state mandated warnings (ex : California Prop 65)
    2.  Packaging quality, it can be almost too obvious to see the difference between a quality brand and a cheap brand just by how shitty their packaging looks. Think about it, if they don’t put any time or care into how their product is presented, why would they put any effort into ensuring quality. ( we can assure you Quality control is not any easy undertaking)
    3. Do your research! Make sure the product you are buying contains e-liquid manufactured in the USA and that the brand is reputable. A reputable brand will have no problem providing their test results upon request.

What we do at the Jones™ to ensure you’re vaping experience is SAFE AND SATISFYING:

Because here at kJ Laboratories we aren’t just the makers of the Jones™, we are end-users ourselves.  Most of us are former smokers that desperately wanted to free ourselves from the dangers of smoking. When we make our product, we are not only considering your safety, but our own safety as well.

Therefore, we are committed to full traceability and sourcing from only the highest quality suppliers. Our Team performs rigorous testing and quality control on every batch and every single product is tracked through a sophisticated batch tracking system.

We enact inbound and outbound QC, which is exactly why we never rush our products to market. Every production batch is sampled and tested alongside it’s resulting finished product to ensure there is and never was any adulteration of the product. If the product is found to be faulty even by a marginal percentage, then we dispose of it through EPA certified channels.

The Jones™ pod not only has unique intellectual property of its designs (see Here) and formulations, but also offers:

MORE volume of e-liquid to minimize pod wastage and pollution,

BETTER flavors to minimize puff volume for a better experience, and these designs and formulations combine to provide a

LONGER lasting pod with less harmful potential.

Here at The Jones™, we want former smokers and future former-smokers to have a quality alternative to the traditional cigarette or even e-cigarettes.

Our designs and formulations intend to offer you a Safer and Satisfying experience while minimizing your use and exposure to any ingredients that may be harmful.
